Pekoe

The photo above may look familiar, a version of it having served for a number of months as the Neko Files' header. Now that it's time to move to a new feature kitty, Pekoe at last gets his own blog post.

Pekoe came to RAPS with his sister Mocha (aka Brownie) as strays living under the porch of a house. Pekoe also sometimes gets called Stubby on account of his shortish tail.

Although looking every bit the laid back guy any time I've seen him, Ann swears he will do the "Pekoe dance" if given the proper patting incentive.

  1. He dances a funny sideways dance for me every morning. I used to think that Pekoe and Stubby were two different cats that looked very similar.....

  2. I think they also have a torbie sister named Cappuchino that lives in the front yard as well

  3. Debbie's correct. They were a group of 3 very frightened feral kittens that joined us when they were 4-5 months-old. We never imagined at that time that they would become as tame as they did. Pekoe is adorable, but he will still revert to feral when he's worried about the big, bad med. staff.

  4. Ah, I met her the other day but wasn't sure which cat family she belonged to!

Re. the reverting to feral thing, we volunteers are lucky that the cats just associate us with food!

  5. Pekoe in these pictures is such a contrast to the frail boy he has been recently.
    RIP, Pekoe...
